Money Book
Know where your money goes. Write down what you spend, receive and move, in any currency, and see what you have, what you owe and where it all went. Your book stays on your own phone or computer: Wah-Kit never sees it.
Opening your book…
Money Book
This book is locked.
Wah-Kit never stores your password, so it can’t be recovered here. Only your recovery key can open the book without it.
Let’s start your book
Three quick things. You can change all of them later.
-
Your home currency
The money you think in. Totals and reports use it. Accounts in other currencies are fine too.
-
Where your money is today
Type what’s there right now: that’s your starting point. Leave a box empty for zero. For a credit card or loan, type what you owe.
-
What you spend on, and where money comes from
Tap to choose. These are your categories. Type your own if something’s missing.

Exchange rates: Rates By Exchange Rate API
Good to know
Where is my book kept? Can Wah-Kit see it?
Your book is kept inside the browser on this phone or computer. It is never sent to Wah-Kit. The only thing Wah-Kit is asked for is today’s exchange rates (just the currency code), and whether you’re signed in, to know your plan.
What if I lose my phone or clear the browser?
Then the book on that device is gone, which is why backups matter. Under Backup & settings tap Send backup on WhatsApp (send it to yourself, or to “Message yourself”), or download it. You can lock a backup with a password. To bring it back, open Money Book and choose open a backup.
Can I use it on my phone and my computer?
A book lives on one device. To move it, send a backup to the other device and open it there. On a computer you can also keep your book in a file (for example in your OneDrive or Google Drive folder): Money Book saves into it after every change.
What does “double entry” mean? Do I need to know accounting?
No. You just say “spent 45 on food from cash”. Behind the scenes every entry is written twice, once where the money came from and once where it went, the way accountants do it. That’s why your accounts always add up, and why your net worth is always right.
How do other currencies work?
Give an account its own currency, say a US dollar account. Entries in it are kept in dollars; totals are shown in your home currency at today’s rate (from ExchangeRate-API, updated daily). Rates move, so your dollars may be worth more or less tomorrow: Revalue writes that gain or loss into your book. You can type your own rate any time.
Can I lock my book with a password or fingerprint?
Yes, if you want to: under Backup & settings, tap Set a password. Your book is then kept encrypted on your device, locks itself after a while without use (you choose how long), and backups need the password to open. On phones and computers that support it, you can also unlock with your fingerprint or face. Wah-Kit never stores your password and can’t recover it: when you set it, you get a recovery key. Please store it safely, because it’s the only way in if you forget the password.
Can I plan payments that are coming, like rent or salary?
Yes. Under Planned, tap Plan a payment: once, weekly, monthly, yearly and more, with an end if you like. When it’s due, tap ✓ Paid and it becomes a real entry (change the amount first if it was different). Planned payments don’t change your balances until you confirm them. Cash flow shows how much you’ll have in cash and bank over the next 30 days to 12 months, and warns you if you’d run short.
How do reminders work, and what does Wah-Kit see?
Due payments always show in Money Book. If you switch on reminders, this device tells Wah-Kit only which days something is due and how many, never the amounts, names or notes, and you get a notification at 9 am on the day.
Can I close the year, or start a fresh book?
Yes, under Backup & settings. Close the books moves the year’s income and spending into “Savings brought forward” and locks those entries (you can reopen them). After closing you can archive and start a new book: the old one stays on your device, read-only, and the new one starts with your balances brought forward. Reports keep showing earlier years. You can also keep several books, such as one for the family and one for a shop.
How many accounts and categories can I have?
Free members: 1 bank or card account (cash doesn’t count), 5 spending and 5 income categories, 5 planned payments. Starter: 10 accounts, 20 categories, 30 planned payments. Pro: as many as you like. See plans.
