Help & FAQ

What each Wah-Kit tool does, in plain words and pictures. It all works on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install, and most of it is free.

Text formatter

It makes your WhatsApp messages look neat: bold, italics, lists and quotes, even when you copy the text from Word, an email, a website or an AI chat. You can also type in your own language.

1 · The problem it solves

✕ Bold, italics and the list are lost

WhatsApp doesn’t understand formatting from other programs, so it throws it away.

✓ Looks exactly as you wrote it

WhatsApp has its own “secret code” for formatting: stars for *bold*, underscores for _italic_, and tildes for ~strikethrough~. Wah-Kit writes that code for you, so you never have to remember it. In the Wah-Kit editor you simply see the bold and italics, just as they will look.

3 · Type in your own language

Choose “Tamil” under Type in, then type
vaNakkam
as you type
வணக்கம்Hindi: namaste → नमस्ते · Russian: spasibo → спасибо · Amharic: selam → ሰላም · and 100+ more languages

Type the way the word sounds, using English letters, and it changes into your language’s script. No special keyboard needed. On a phone, each word changes when you press space.

4 · Send it without saving the number

Send to +65 9123 4567 ➤ Send on WhatsApp
opens

Type any number with its country code (65 for Singapore, 974 for Qatar, 91 for India…) and WhatsApp opens that chat with your message already typed in. You only tap send. Leave the number empty to pick a chat or group in WhatsApp instead.

  1. 1Paste or type your message in the green box.
  2. 2Fix anything you like: bold, lists, your language.
  3. 3Tap Copy for WhatsApp and paste it in WhatsApp, or tap Send on WhatsApp.

Contacts & templates

Save the people you message often, with details like amount or due date. Write a message once with blanks, and Wah-Kit fills in each person’s details for you. Needs a free sign-in with Google.

Template (written once)
Hi {First name}, your fee of {Amount} is due on {Due date}. Thank you!
Contact: Mrs Tan · Amount S$120 · Due date 15 Oct
pick Mrs Tan
Hi Mrs Tan, your fee of S$120 is due on 15 Oct. Thank you!9:41

Pick another contact and the same template fills in with their own name and amount. With the Reminder list (Starter and Pro plans) you pick the people to remind, and Wah-Kit opens each person’s own message in WhatsApp, one at a time, for you to send. Free accounts keep 10 contacts and 2 templates of their own, plus ready-made templates for payment reminders, bills, appointments and greetings.

Birthday reminders

Add a birthday to any saved contact (the year is optional). From a few days before, the Wah-Kit home page lists upcoming birthdays with a one-tap greeting, or a greeting card with their name on it.

🎂

🎉🎂 Happy Birthday, Grace! 🎂🎉

Wishing you a wonderful day filled with love, laughter and lots of cake 🍰🎈🌸9:41

Prefer a picture? Tap 🎴 Card instead. Once you’ve wished them, the birthday moves to a “Wished” list, and it comes back by itself next year. Fill in What you call them on the contact (for example “Dear Anna” or “Dad”) and greetings and cards use that instead of their saved name.

Greeting cards

Picture cards with the person’s name on them, for birthdays, anniversaries, New Year, Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Diwali and Christmas, or your own words. Free, with no sign-up.

On a phone, tap Send card on WhatsApp, choose WhatsApp, then the person. On a computer, click Copy card & open chat, then press Ctrl + V in the WhatsApp message box and send. You can change the heading too, for example to “Eid Mubarak” or “Happy 2027”. Free cards carry a small www.wah-kit.com mark in the corner; on Starter and Pro they have no mark at all.

Status maker

Tall pictures for your WhatsApp Status, seen by all your contacts for 24 hours: good morning wishes, festival greetings, your own words, or shop notices like Open today, Closed today or Sale. Free, with no sign-up.

Tasks

A simple to-do list where a task can carry a WhatsApp message for one of your contacts, ready to send when it’s due. Needs a free sign-in with Google.

Remind Mr Lee about Saturday’s class Today, 5:00 PM · Mr Lee
Send on WhatsApp📅 Calendar✓ Done

Hi Mr Lee, a reminder that Saturday’s class starts at 10 am. See you then!5:00

Tasks due today or overdue also show on your home page. Tap 📅 Calendar to add the task to Google Calendar, which reminds you at the right time. The Free plan holds 5 open tasks, Starter 20 and Pro 100; ticked-off tasks don’t count.

Drafts for review

One person drafts, another checks and sends. Write a message, choose a reviewer from your contacts, and it waits for them on their Wah-Kit home page. Handy for a family member, a fellow group admin or your boss.

1 · You write it Name

2 · They check it 📝 Diwali group message From Sam · 16 Oct Review & send
they send

The reviewer can change anything, then sends it from their own WhatsApp to their own contacts or groups, and taps Done, I’ve sent it. The draft is then deleted. They never see your contacts. To choose someone as a reviewer, add the email they sign in to Wah-Kit with to their contact first. Reviewing is free; the Free plan can have 3 drafts waiting at a time, Starter 20 and Pro 100.

Events & replies

Invite people to a practice, a party, a class or a meeting. Share one link in your WhatsApp groups and see who’s coming, with guests and notes, in one place. No more counting “+1”s in the chat.

Anyone with the link can see the event, with or without an account. To reply they sign in with Google (free), so every reply has a real name and nobody can reply twice. People who say Going or Maybe see a reminder on their Wah-Kit home page and in My tasks the day before, and can add the event to Google Calendar. You can ask how many guests they’re bringing, and one question of your own (like “T-shirt size”). The Free plan can have 2 open events with up to 50 replies each, Starter 10 events with 200 replies, and Pro 50 events with 1,000 replies.

Shared checklists

One checklist for the whole family or group: a trip, a wedding, a party, moving house. Everyone ticks off their own items, anyone can add an item, and you can see at a glance who still has what to do.

1 · You make it Start from

Start from a ready-made template (travel, wedding, party, school trip, moving house, hospital bag or exam day) or a blank list, and edit the items. Add the people and send each one their personal invite on WhatsApp; they join with a free Wah-Kit account. Each person ticks their own items. As the organiser you can tick for anyone, mark an item “not needed” for someone (like a visa for a person who doesn’t need one), delete items, and send each person a WhatsApp message listing what they still have pending. Free: 1 checklist with up to 4 people. Starter: 5 checklists, 6 people each. Pro: 15 checklists, 10 people each, and you can save your own checklists as templates.

Pick your type of business and the buttons and hours are filled in for you; change anything you like and tap Publish. Share the link in your Instagram bio, Google Maps listing or WhatsApp Status, or print the QR code for your counter. The link and QR code never change, so you can keep editing the page. Use the notice bar for news like “Closed today”. Free pages show a small “Made with Wah-Kit” line; Starter and Pro remove it, and Pro allows up to 5 pages.

Auto-reply kit

Ready-made greeting messages, away messages and quick replies for your type of business, to use in the free WhatsApp Business app. It then answers customers automatically when you’re busy or closed. Free, no sign-up.

Common questions

About Wah-Kit

Is Wah-Kit free?

Yes. The text formatter, the link & QR maker, greeting cards, the Status maker and the auto-reply kit are free, with no account needed. A free account (sign in with Google) adds 10 saved contacts, 2 templates of your own, birthday reminders, 5 open tasks, 3 drafts for review, a business page, 2 open events with replies and 1 shared checklist.

If you need more, Starter (US$1.99 a month) and Pro (US$4.99 a month) give you more contacts, templates, tasks, drafts and events, the Reminder list for reminding many people one by one, and cards and Status pictures without the www.wah-kit.com mark. They are fixed prices, with no charge per message, and paying yearly costs less. See Plans & pricing.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Wah-Kit works in your web browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Just open wah-kit.com.

Is Wah-Kit part of WhatsApp?

No. Wah-Kit is an independent website that helps you prepare messages. It is not made by or connected with WhatsApp or Meta.

Does Wah-Kit send messages for me?

No. Wah-Kit only opens WhatsApp with your message ready. You always tap send, from your own WhatsApp. Nothing is ever sent without you.

Can Wah-Kit read my WhatsApp chats?

No. Wah-Kit has no access to your WhatsApp account, chats or contacts.

Text formatter

Why do I see *stars* and _underscores_ in my message?

That is WhatsApp’s formatting code. When you paste into WhatsApp, it turns *text* into bold and _text_ into italics once the message is sent (and often while you type). If you paste somewhere else, such as an email, you will see the marks; use Copy for Word for those places instead.

What is the difference between “Copy for WhatsApp”, “Copy for Telegram” and “Copy for Word”?

Copy for WhatsApp gives WhatsApp’s stars-and-underscores code. Copy for Word keeps real formatting for Word, Google Docs, Outlook or Gmail. Copy for Telegram keeps the formatting when you paste into Telegram on a computer or the web, and on a phone gives Telegram’s own code (**bold**, __italics__, ~~strikethrough~~), which turns into formatting when you send.

Why is my underline missing in WhatsApp?

WhatsApp has no underline. Underlined text stays underlined only when you use Copy for Word or Copy for Telegram.

Can I copy just part of the message?

Yes. Highlight the part you want, then tap Copy for WhatsApp or Send on WhatsApp.

Can I send to a WhatsApp group?

WhatsApp doesn’t let any website put a message straight into a group. Leave “Send to” empty (or pick a saved group) and tap Send: WhatsApp opens with your message ready, and you choose the group from your chat list.

Why does it say to add the country code?

WhatsApp needs the full international number. Use the country code instead of the leading 0, for example +65 9123 4567 (Singapore), +974 5555 1234 (Qatar) or +91 98765 43210 (India).

How do I add a date or work out a total?

Put the cursor where you want it, then use the two small buttons on the formatting row. 📅 Insert a date shows a calendar with quick choices like Today, Tomorrow and Next Monday; tap a day and it’s typed in full, for example “Saturday, 24 October 2026” (you can choose the style). 🧮 Calculator works out a sum such as 120 × 4 + 35 and types the answer, or the whole working (“120 × 4 + 35 = 515”).

Shortcut: type =120*4+35 in your message and press space, and it turns into 515.

Is my text saved or sent anywhere?

No. What you type or paste in the text formatter stays in your browser. It is only stored if you choose to save it as a template, or send it for review, in your account.

Link & QR maker

Does the QR code expire?

No. The QR code simply holds your link. It keeps working for as long as your number uses WhatsApp.

Can I change the message after printing the QR code?

No. The message is part of the code itself. To change it, make a new QR code and print that one.

What do people need to scan the code?

Just their phone camera (or a QR scanner app) and WhatsApp. Nothing else to install.

Does it work with WhatsApp Business?

Yes. Enter the number of your WhatsApp Business account and the link opens a chat with it.

Is it safe to share my number this way?

The link shows your number to anyone who has it, just like printing your number on a card. Share it where you’re happy for people to contact you.

Account, contacts & templates

Why sign in with Google?

So your saved contacts and templates are kept safely and appear on any device you use. We only receive your name, email and profile picture, never your password or Gmail.

How do I fill a template for someone?

In the text formatter, choose a Template, then pick the person under Send to. Their details fill in. Anything still empty is highlighted in yellow; tap it to type over it.

What are “fields”?

Fields are details you keep for each contact, such as Amount, Due date or Payment link. You name up to 5 on the My contacts page. In a template, write the field name in curly brackets, like {Amount}, and it is replaced with each person’s value.

How do I remind several people, each with their own details?

Use the Reminder list (Starter and Pro plans). It is for people you already deal with, such as students, members or customers; marketing or promotional messages are not allowed. Choose a template, tick the contacts, then tap Send for each person: WhatsApp opens with that person’s own message ready, and you tap send in WhatsApp. Wah-Kit never sends anything by itself, so your number stays safe and every message is from you.

You can stop at any time and carry on later; Wah-Kit remembers who you have already sent to.

Will Wah-Kit send me emails?

Only if you want them. After your first sign-in, Wah-Kit asks whether you’d like an occasional email about new features (about once a month at most). You can change your answer any time under Email preferences in your account menu, or with the unsubscribe link in any of those emails. Emails about your account or payments are sent either way.

How do I download or delete my data?

On My contacts, use Export to Excel to download your contacts, or Delete my account at the bottom to remove everything.

Birthdays, greeting cards & Status

How do I mark a birthday as done?

On the home page, Send wishes marks the birthday as wished and moves it to the “Wished” list. If you wished them another way (a call, or in person), tap ✓ Done. Tapped by mistake? Open “Wished” and tap Undo. The reminder comes back by itself next year.

How do I send a greeting card?

Open Greeting cards (free, no sign-up). Choose the occasion (birthday, anniversary, New Year, Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Diwali, Christmas, or Your own words), pick a design and type the person’s name. You can change the heading too, for example to “Eid Mubarak” or “Happy 2027”. On a phone, tap Send card on WhatsApp and choose WhatsApp, then the person. On a computer, click Copy card & open chat, then press Ctrl + V in the WhatsApp message box and send. For birthdays you’ve saved, the home page has a 🎴 Card button with the name already filled in.

Want the card to say “Dear Anna” or “Dad” rather than their saved name? On My contacts, edit the contact and fill in What you call them. Cards and birthday wishes use it, and templates can say {Nickname}. You can also change the name on any card before sending.

How do I make a picture for my WhatsApp Status?

Open the Status maker (free, no sign-up). Choose Good morning, Shop notices, Festivals or Your own words, pick a design, and tap a Quick start button such as Open today, Closed today or Sale, or type your own heading and message. Add your shop name or phone number in Signed if you like. On a phone, tap Share to WhatsApp Status, choose WhatsApp, then My status. On a computer, download the picture, send it to your phone, and add it to your Status from WhatsApp’s Updates tab.

Can I send cards without the www.wah-kit.com mark?

Yes. Free cards and Status pictures, and those made without signing in, carry a small www.wah-kit.com mark in the bottom corner. On Starter or Pro, they go out with no mark at all, just your wishes. Sign in with your paid account and the mark disappears automatically.

Can I add my own photo to a card?

Not yet. For now you can choose from Wah-Kit’s designs and change the words. We plan to add your own photos later.

Tasks & drafts for review

How do tasks work?

Open My tasks from your account menu and tap New task. Write what to do, and optionally add a date and time, a saved contact and a WhatsApp message (you can start from a template, and fields like {First name} fill in for that contact). When it’s time, tap Send on WhatsApp: WhatsApp opens with the message ready, and you tap Send. Then tick the task off.

Tap 📅 Calendar to add the task to your Google Calendar, which reminds you at the due time. The Free plan holds 5 open tasks, Starter 20 and Pro 100; ticked-off tasks don’t count.

Can someone else check my message before it’s sent?

Yes, with Send for review. It’s handy when one person drafts and another approves, such as a family member, a fellow group admin or your boss.

  1. First, on My contacts, edit the reviewer’s contact and fill in Email they use for Wah-Kit, the address they sign in with.
  2. In the text formatter, write the message and tap Send for review. Give it a name if you like (otherwise the first few words are used) and choose the reviewer. Wah-Kit shows ✅ On Wah-Kit, or ⚠️ Not on Wah-Kit yet with a button to invite them on WhatsApp.
  3. When the reviewer signs in, their home page shows 📝 For your review. They open the draft, change anything they like, send it from their own WhatsApp to their own contacts or groups, and tap Done, I’ve sent it. The draft is then deleted.

Your drafts are listed on your home page under 📤 Waiting for review, where you can edit them, remind the reviewer on WhatsApp, or withdraw them. Drafts nobody acts on are deleted after 30 days. Reviewing is free for everyone; the Free plan can have 3 drafts waiting at a time, Starter 20 and Pro 100.

My reviewer can’t see the draft. Why?

Wah-Kit matches the reviewer by the email address saved on their contact. They must sign in to Wah-Kit with exactly that address. If they use a different Google account, edit their contact on My contacts, correct the email, then open the draft from your home page and tap Send for review → Update to send it to the new address.

Who can see my drafts for review?

Only you and the reviewer you chose. The reviewer sees the draft and your name, never your contacts or anything else. A draft is deleted when the reviewer marks it as sent or you withdraw it, and in any case after 30 days.

Business page & auto-replies

How do I make a business page?

Open Business page and sign in (free). Choose your type of business, type your business name and WhatsApp number, and adjust the buttons. The preview on the right shows exactly what customers will see. Tap Publish my page and it’s live at wah-kit.com/b/your-name, with a QR code to download.

How do I change my page later?

Open My business page from your account menu, change anything, and tap Save changes. It updates straight away, and your link and QR code stay the same. For short news like “Closed today”, switch on the notice bar, and switch it off again when it’s over.

What do the buttons on my page do?

Each button opens WhatsApp on the customer’s phone, in a chat with your number, with a message already typed, for example “Hi, I’d like to place an order”. The customer just taps Send, and you reply as usual. Nothing is sent automatically, and Wah-Kit never sees the chat.

Can I change my page address?

Yes. Edit it under Page address and save. The old address stops working, so update any links you’ve shared and print a new QR code. Addresses are first come, first served, and names that could be mistaken for WhatsApp, Wah-Kit or a well-known organisation aren’t allowed.

Will my page appear on Google?

It can. Search engines may show it when people search for your business name, but it won’t outrank big websites. If you’d rather keep it link-only, switch off Let Google show my page.

How do greeting and away messages work?

They’re built into the free WhatsApp Business app (not normal WhatsApp). A greeting message is sent automatically to people who message you for the first time; an away message is sent when they write outside your hours. The auto-reply kit writes them for your type of business, with the steps to switch them on.

Can Wah-Kit run a full WhatsApp chatbot for me?

Not at the moment. Real chatbots need WhatsApp’s paid business platform and approval from Meta. For most small businesses, a business page with question buttons plus greeting and away messages covers the same needs, for free.

Shared checklists

How do I make a shared checklist?

Open My checklists from your account menu (or the Shared checklists tile on the home page) and tap New checklist. Choose a template, give it a name and an optional date, add the people (their WhatsApp number is optional), and edit the items. Tap Create checklist, then Invite each person on WhatsApp.

Do the people on my list need a Wah-Kit account?

Yes, at least a free account. Each person gets their own invite link, which you can send on WhatsApp, by email or any other way. When they open it, they sign in with Google (free, a few seconds) and join under the name you gave them. That way everyone’s ticks are really theirs, and only the people on the list can see it. If you didn’t enter a WhatsApp number, Send invite opens WhatsApp with the message ready and you choose the chat; or tap Copy invite link to send it any other way.

Each invite link works once. Under People you can see which Google account joined in each place. If the wrong person joined (for example, an invite was forwarded), tap Reset invite: they’re taken off, and you get a new link to send.

Who can tick what?

Each person can tick only their own items. The organiser can tick for anyone (for example when someone tells you in the chat); those ticks show in a lighter green with “ticked by” and the organiser’s name. Only the organiser can mark an item as not needed for someone, using the 👥 button.

Can everyone add items? Who can delete them?

Everyone on the list can add items, for everyone or just for one person. Only the organiser can delete items. If you add an item by mistake, you can delete it yourself within 10 minutes.

How do I remind people of what’s pending?

Under People, tap Send pending next to someone. WhatsApp opens with a message listing what they still have to do, with a link back to the list. Send everyone’s pending items makes one message for your family or group chat.

How many checklists can I have?

Free: 1 active checklist with up to 4 people (including you). Starter: 5 checklists, 6 people each. Pro: 15 checklists, 10 people each, plus saving your own checklists as templates. When a trip is over, use ⋯ More → Mark as finished: it stays readable but no longer counts. Joining other people’s checklists is always free.

Events & replies

How do I invite people to an event?

Open My events from your account menu (or the Events & replies tile on the home page) and tap New event. Type the title, date, time and place, and any details. Tap Save, then Share on WhatsApp to post the invitation, with its link, in your group or to anyone you like.

Do the people I invite need a Wah-Kit account?

To see the event, no: anyone with the link can open it. To reply, yes: when they tap Going, Maybe or Can’t go, they sign in with Google (free, a few seconds) and come straight back with their answer saved. This way every reply has a real name, nobody can reply for someone else, and they get a reminder the day before.

Who can see the replies?

As the organiser, you see every name, reply, number of guests and note. Everyone else sees only the totals, such as “12 going + 4 guests”. If you’d like your group to see who’s coming, switch on Show who’s coming to people who reply.

Can I download the list?

Yes. Open the event in My events and tap Download for Excel. You get each person’s name, reply, guests, note and when they replied, with the totals at the bottom.

Will people be reminded?

Yes. The day before the event, everyone who said Going or Maybe sees it at the top of their Wah-Kit home page, and it’s listed in My tasks under “Events you’re going to”. These reminders don’t count towards their task limit. They can also tap Add to Google Calendar after replying, for a reminder on their phone.

Can people change their reply?

Yes, until you close replies. They open the link again and tap Change my reply or Remove my reply. You can tap Close replies when you have your numbers, and reopen them any time.

How many events can I have?

The Free plan can have 2 open events at a time with up to 50 replies each, Starter 10 events with 200 replies each, and Pro 50 events with 1,000 replies each. Replying to other people’s events is always free. An event stops counting once its date has passed or you close it.
