How to use the radio
- Find stations: the three lists work together, like a filter in Excel. Choose Tamil and the country list shows only countries with Tamil stations (with how many each has).
- Station name: type part of a name, such as Suryan or BBC, and pick from the list. The radio switches on and plays it, the other three lists go back to “Any”, and ◀ ▶ moves between the stations that matched.
- Switch on: flick the OFF · ON switch. While it’s off you can still turn the dial to see which station you’ll get.
- Tune in: turn the Tune knob, tap a line on the dial, or use ◀ ▶. Taller lines are more popular stations. Band ▸ shows more stations.
- FM only: shows stations whose name carries a number in the FM range (such as “Suryan FM 93.5” or “Radio 98”) on a real 88–108 scale. Other stations stay under All stations.
- 🏠 Home, 😴 Bedtime, 🏏 Live sport, 📰 News: one tap for your home stations, soft music with a 30-minute switch-off, live sport, or news in your language.
- 🌙 Sleep: the radio fades out and switches itself off after the time you choose.
- 📶 Low data: prefers stations that use less mobile data. Radio usually uses about 30–60 MB an hour, or about 15–30 MB in low-data mode.
- My stations (members, free): tap ♡ Save and the station becomes a numbered preset button on the radio, on all your devices. Share my stations sends them to a friend on WhatsApp; they can listen straight away.
- Share: Send on WhatsApp sends a link that opens the radio tuned to your station; Put on my Status makes a “Now listening” picture.
Stations come from the free, community-run Radio Browser directory. Each station’s sound comes straight from that station; Wah-Kit doesn’t record or rebroadcast anything. A station not working? It’s skipped automatically; you can also tell us.
