Coding and decoding, made easy
💡 The idea
Compare the word with its code letter by letter and find the one rule that turns one into the other. Then apply exactly the same rule.
Word→Compare letter by letter→Find the rule→Apply it
🧭 The method: 3 steps
- Write the word above its code.
- Check the first two letters: same shift? opposite letters (adding to 27)? reversed order?
- For sentence codes, find the word two sentences share and the code they share.

✏️ Worked examples
Example 1. If CAT is DBU, what is DOG?
- C → D, A → B, T → U: each letter +1
- D → E, O → P, G → H
⚡ Shortcut: EPH
⚠️ Where people go wrong
- Checking only the first letter: confirm the rule on a second one.
- Sentence codes are in a mixed-up order: do not match by position.
- Shifting the wrong way (forward vs back).
📌 Remember
- Shift: same jump for each letter
- Opposite: places add to 27
- Sentences: the shared word ↔ the shared code
